However, Post Office ‘undeliverable’ returns (often termed ‘nixies’) happen in small quantities to the best of lists, and more often than not turn up in the post before the positive responses the marketer is eagerly anticipating. What is an acceptable level of returns?You should regard returns at a level of anything more than 5% of your mailing quantity as unacceptable and at WDM we offer a rebate in exchange for you returning the ‘nixies’ to us as this helps us clean the list and maintain our data quality. We encourage our clients to print their return address on the envelope and ensure each list used is coded on the reply device so that you can claim your rebate.
